Mary Pool's Obituary
Mary Pool, age 88 of Lufkin formerly of Henderson, received her most desired wish, to meet her Lord, which she did on April 28, 2012. She was born May 3, 1923 to Paschal F. Cox and Mary Olive Cox in Denison, Texas.
Mary married Lewis A. Pool on March 4, 1943 and shared a wonderful marriage for 68 years. Mary received so much joy in attending church, and having her daily Bible study. She had read the Bible thru numerous times and nothing was more exciting to her than having new insights revealed. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Lufkin and the Jolly Senior Sunday School Class. She was a former member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Henderson. Mary was a loving , devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who always placed her family first. She lead by example and was truly a Proverbs 31 woman.
Those who are left to cherish her memory are her family, daughter and son-in-law Alana & Roger Parker of Lufkin, grandson & wife Lance & Diana Parker of Houston, and 2 great grandsons Noah and Griffin.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Lewis A. Pool who died February 16, 2012, and 2 sisters Jeanne Wills and Bobbie Dunn.
Mary's family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Carlton Lewis, Cynthia Ayala, Frank Sherryl, Martha, Teressa. Thaffy, Kathy, Chris, Peggy, Debbie, and Cornetha from Hospice in the Pines Inpatient Facility for their loving and caring attention.
Funeral services for Mary Pool will be held Tuesday May 1, 2012 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Henderson with Rev. Bill Kuykendall, and Rev. Walter Futch officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will follow the service.
