I love you Grandma. I miss you. Thank you for always sending me cards. I regret that I didn't say these words enough. It's been a year without you. This year your birthday will fall on Father's Day.
If I could talk to you again, I would want you to know that I started learning how to crochet. It brings memories back from when you first taught me.
My knots are inconsistent, and probably too tight. But I've been improving. I did learn the "magic ring" on my own. I don't remember learning that term from you, but I recall before seeing you twist and loop a crochet needle in such a way that I thought was quite magical-looking. You didn't call it a "magic ring", but you referred to it instead as starting the project for me.
I was too choked up to speak when I was at your funeral. But I wish that I could have shared the stories and the memories I have of you -- the ones that showcase your love and your patience as a grandmother. You have blessed my life and my childhood.
I still have dreams that take place at "Grandma and Grandpa's lakehouse." I hope that I always will always remember. I love you, Grandma Mary.

Mary and memories. There are so many for us all. She touched all of our lives in the "Mary way". Her straight talk to help educate us in life, and yet her overwhelming kindness to welcome you into her home and, of course, always feed you.
