I worked for Colonial Village for 5 yrs and Mrs McDaniel was always so sweet to me. I loved when she made her famous fudge and would share with everyone. She fought a good fight and she will be dearly missed. See you in Heaven Mrs McDaniel. Love always. Rachel Crumpton
Just now learned of Laverne's Home-Going. We want to send our Condolences to all of her family.
She was such a lovely lady and we thought so much of Laverne and "Red".
We purchased their little grocery store in D'fld. What a joy it was to have it and we have many fond memories of both them.
Can't wait to see them again, when we get to heaven!!!

Laverne McDaniel was one of the great ladies of Daingerfield for many years. She was so brave in the face of the shooting at FBC in Daingerfield. Her husband, "Red" was a true hero in giving his life to save hundreds of church members on that fateful day in 1980. Laverne raised two fine daughters.
