Mary Lou Wilson Bennett was born in Chalk Hill to Franklin Lee Wilson and Myra Strong Wilson on October 4, 1921 and had four siblings, Frances Freeman of Chalk Hill and Buddy Wilson of Birmingham, AL, both of whom preceded her in death. Her sisters surviving are Lottie Driggers of Seguin, TX and Kathleen Connolly of Longview. On September 27, 1938, she married John William Bennett in Atlanta, TX, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bennett was a homemaker who loved her family and all of our family gatherings and wanted her family around her at holiday times. She loved cooking and trying new recipes and loved to travel and fish with daddy and go out to eat and try new restaurants. She loved the "old" gospel music and was a member of the Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three children, Reba Adams and husband Joe, Wayne Bennett and wife Jody and Joan McCloskey and husband Kevin; her grand children, Joey Adams, Kristi Walker, Julie Deese, Janna Bennett, Ryan McCloskey and Keith McCloskey; six great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be the grandchildren and great grandchildren, Jeremy Adams, Joe Adams, Nathan Walker, Logan Walker, Ryan McCloskey and Keith McCloskey.
She was cared for very lovingly by three wonderful ladies, Melba Moore, Carrie Newsome and Alma West, and also by her special nurse, Aleshia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Life Care Hospice, 1809 Gilmer Rd., Longview, TX 75604 or to a charity of choice.
