Mary Jo Leath's Obituary
Mary Jo Leath passed away on August 1, 2025 in Longview, TX. Mary Jo was born October 27, 1937 to Bud and Wilma Baxley in Blossom, TX, located in Lamar County. She moved to the Pine Tree area when she was 14 years old and graduated from Pine Tree High School in 1956. Mary Jo married Robert Leath on October 14, 1956. She retired after 21 years of service at Pine Tree ISD where she served as secretary to the superintendent for 19 of those years.
Mary Jo was preceded in death by her son Ricky Lynn and her brother Larry Baxley. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert, her son Mike (Christy), and her beloved grandchildren Alex, Garrett, and Mary.
Mary Jo was a member of the New Journey Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was active in the Gleaner’s Sunday school class and the women’s ministry.
She loved to fish and was an avid reader.
Funeral services will be held at the Rosewood Park Mausoleum on Tuesday August 5, 2025 at 11AM.
