Mary Kathryn Burton's Obituary
Funeral services for Mary Kathryn Burton, 104, of Elderville will be 2 PM Thursday at the Centre Presbyterian Church with Rev. Fred Niles officiating under direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Burial will follow at Elderville Cemetery.
Mrs. Burton died Monday October 11, 2004 at a local hospital. She was born March 11, 1900 in the Millville Community outside of Henderson to Matthew and Rosie Burt. In 1921, she married Frank Burton and moved to Elderville. She has lived most of her life in the Elderville area.
?Miss Mary? to some and ?Aunt Mary? to others, she became a member of Centre Presbyterian Church in 1927. She remained active until 1990 when she had to slow down for health reasons. All those who knew her will miss her.
She is survived by her, son, Evans Burton and his wife, Retta of Elderville; Grandsons, Woodie Meyers and his wife, Dolores of Kilgore, Weldon Hopkins and his wife, Mary and Tommy Hopkins and his wife, Kay all of Hallsville; Brother, James Burt and his wife, Katherine of Temple and her sister, Anna Laura Myers of Houston; 10 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
