Mary 'Joann' Gunn Thomas
Mary 'Joann' Gunn Thomas, 73, was born on October 16, 1938 in Winnsboro, Texas. She went to be with the Lord on November 1, 2011. Joann was an avid seamstress, camper, fisherwoman, and loving grandmother. She and John loved to travel, camp, and fish as often as her health allowed. Her grandchildren often lovingly referred to her as 'Lucy' for her funny stories and antics, and she will always be their 'Nana.'
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, John Alfred Thomas; and their three children Joe Dan Thomas and wife, Angela, of White Oak, Dana Wright and husband, Michael, of Longview, and Patti Thomas of Longview. She is also survived by her sister Jan Latham, brother Albert Gunn, sister Jeniene Stone and husband, Jerry, brother Tommy Gunn and wife, Vivian, and sister Barbara Sue Bullock and husband, Larry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Jewel Gunn, and brother, Kenneth Gunn.
In addition, she is survived by seven grandchildren, Amanda Wright, Candace Fleetwood and husband, Jeremy, Greggory Wright and wife, Lauren, Heather Gajewsky and husband, Matthew, Kara Holbert and husband, Blake, Kylie Kennemer, and Blake Clampitt. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Madison Fleetwood, Raylee Gajewsky, Chance Fleetwood, Holli Holbert, and Micah Fleetwood.
Visitation will be held 6-8 P.M., Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Rader Funeral Home.
Services will be at 12:00 P.M., Friday, November 4, 2011, at Macedonia Baptist Church with Bob White officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
