Mary Jeanene Montgomery's Obituary
Memorial services for Mary Jeanene Montgomery, 59, of Longview, will be held 10 AM Tuesday, July 29th, 2003 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Fenton and Rev. James Lewis officiating. Private family burial will be at Rosewood Park.
A longtime Longview resident she was born March 25, 1944 in Ft. Worth, Texas, and died Friday, July 25, 2003 in Dallas, Texas.
Jeanene was educated at East Texas State University in Commerce and had a BA and MA. She taught primary grades for 33 years and had been employed by Longview ISD, Gladewater ISD and Clarksville ISD. She was a life member of TRTS, TSTA Retired Teachers and the Gregg County RTA.
Jeanene Montgomery dedicated her life to others, her greatest joy was serving and sharing her caring spirit and devotion to strangers and loved ones alike. Teaching children was the driving force in her life. She loved all of her children with all of her heart. She loved the Lord and placed her life in his hands. Even in the battle that devastated her body, her heart reached out to everyone she touched.
Her teaching years were spent making lifelong impressions on her students. She was a primary teacher that her students will remember for a lifetime. Her love for her fellow teachers will never fade away. Happy times were spent with her family. Holidays were special events. Jeanene loved working on the farm with her husband. No task was too large to undertake. Her zeal for life included teaching, her family and friends, her service to the Lord, her garden, her pets and ?her? cows, not to mention her love of shopping. Her courage and strength should be remembered and honored forever, by all of those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by loving and faithful husband, Jim Montgomery; children, John and Dema Montgomery of Burleson, Mark and Samantha Montgomery of Hallsville, Christi Ann Montgomery of Gilmer and Karen Montgomery of Burleson; Grandchildren, Christopher Montgomery of the United States Marine Corp, Mathew Montgomery and Jacob Montgomery both of Burleson and Logan Fowler of Longview; parents, Seth and Mary C. Jeanene was known as Mary to her many medical care givers. The dedication of all the doctors and medical staff were sincerely appreciated by the entire family. The Longview Cancer Center, Good Shepherd Medical Center, Longview Cardiology and Baylor B.M.T. and the many other doctors will never know the gratitude for the tender loving care they provided for this precious person.
