Mary Faye Smith's Obituary
Services for Mary Faye Toms Smith , 78, of Longview will be held 10 AM Saturday, April 5th at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Laney Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Memory Park Cemetery. Mrs. Smith died Thursday morning, April 3rd at a Longview nursing center.
She was born August 6, 1924 at Spring Hill, Louisiana to Grady and Mary Phadra Morgan Toms. A resident of Longview since 1948, she was a homemaker and with her late husband, James C. Smith, was the former owner of the East Cotton St. Fina and J & T Auto service. Mrs. Smith was an active member of the Mobberly Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son and wife, Tommy and Linda Smith of Lake Cherokee; daughter and husband, Cindy and David Gordy of Longview; nine grandchildlren; seven great grandchildren; brother and wife, Ron and Fran Toms of San Antonio; sister, Rachel Maddey of College Station; sisters and husbands, Pat and Bennie Hickman of Florida and Ruthie and Bill Milam of Louisiana; sisters-in-law, Beverly Hull of Houston and Penny Toms of Norlth Carolina; Her mother-in-;law of age 98, Littie Smith Crowley of Shreveport; special friend Judy Crowley. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James C. Smith; her parents, Grady and Mary Toms; brother, Cecil Toms and sister, Bitty Hull.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Friday evening, April 4th at the Funeral Home.
