Mary Ellen Wilder's Obituary
Mary Ellen Wilder died Wednesday, January 1, 2003, after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her mother, Eula Vae Goode of Sherman; husband, David; and two sons, Stephen of New Haven Conn., and Andrew of Euless. Other survivors include various in-laws, nieces, nephews, an aunt and several cousins.
She was born in Fort Worth on March 1, 1943. She graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1961. Mrs. Wilder received her Bachelors degree in 1964 from Lamar University where she met and married her husband David. She received her MBA from the University of Texas at Tyler in 1992 after the family moved to Longview. Mrs. Wilder was a CPA.
Most of her adult life was spent as a homemaker. She was active in the Presbyterian Church in Pennsylvania, Houston, and St. Andrew Church in Longview where she served as an Elder. She was active in the Cub Scouts and parent-teacher organizations. In Longview she was also active in civic organizations including the Literacy Council and Habitat For Humanity.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, January 4, 2003 at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Longview with the Rev. Dr. Stephen K. Kim officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, 1617 Judson Road.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday January 3, 2003 from 6pm until 8pm.
The family requests memorials to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church.
