Mary Edna Brown Berry's Obituary
Services for Mary Edna Brown Berry, 88, of Longview will be 2 PM Saturday, January 5, 2008 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Reverend Scott Schulik officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Berry passed away Tuesday morning at her home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mary was born on July 21, 1919 in Utica, KY, to Marvin and Hallie Stevens and was the oldest of 5 children. She moved to Longview in 1954 with her husband, George H. Brown, SR. Mary and George were married for 36 years until his death in 1971. She was a loving mother of 6 children. Mary was married to Roy L. Berry in January of 1980 and this would have been their 28th year of marriage. She was an active member of Mobberly Baptist Church for 53 years and was also involved for many years with the American Business Women?s Association & Prelude and was retired after 26 years with Sears, Roebuck & Co.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George H. Brown, SR; and her eldest son, George H. Brown, JR.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Roy L. Berry; sons, William P. Brown, Thomas S. Brown, and Charles E. Brown; daughters, Nora A. Nonie Brown, and Virginia R. Jenny Brown; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
