Mary Frances Ballenger's Obituary
Mary Frances Ballenger, age 74 of Henderson formerly of Nacogdoches, went to be with Lord on Friday February 15, 2019, Frances was born on September 14, 1944 to Virgil and Inez Chaviers who preceded in her in death. She attended Central Heights School and earned her bachelors and master degree from Stephen F. Austin University. Mrs. Ballenger was a teacher at various area schools over a period of 30 years. Frances was a member of the Kappa Delta Pi educational honor society, Retired Teachers Association, and The Presidential Task Force, WD -40, and women’s bible groups. Frances enjoyed baking, flower gardening, playing with granddaughter Preslee, and attending church at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she was a member. She collected ships and lighthouses and enjoyed traveling in the United States . On February 14, 1976 she married Jack Mouzon Ballenger who preceded her in death.
Frances is survived by her daughter Rene’ McDaniel and husband Richard, son Britt Ballenger and wife Amy, special sister Delores Bailey, grandchildren Preslee McDaniel , Parker Ballenger, and Graham Ballenger, Pallbearers will be Reuben Elliott, Richard McDaniel, Jonathan Martin, Jason Horn, Jason Ballenger, and Ricky Ballenger. Honorary pallbearers will be The Solid Rockers Sunday School Class.
Funeral Services will be held today Tuesday September 19, 2019 at 2:00pm at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Nacogdoches with Rev. John Spurgeon officiating with music provided by Gary Goss. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches under the direction of the Rader Funeral Home in Henderson.
