Mary Helen Bair passed away Wednesday September 3, 2014 in Angleton, TX after a long battle with Lupus and Alzheimer’s. She was preceded in death by her parents O.D. and Vera Barrett Griffin and brothers; Joe L., James Ray and Pau Read Obituary
I didn't find out that Mary Helen had passed away until two years after I moved back to East Texas, following my retirement from the radio business.
My air name back during the mid-70's at KFRO was "Righteous" Rick Randall.
Mary Helen always treated me well and I saw her a few times after I moved on to other stations.
I know it's rather late, but all the best to her family.

Mary Helen was committed to serving her community and took great pride in her participation in a wide variety of civic programs. I could never thank her enough for her generous support for many years to our Crime Stoppers program. She truly inspired all of us with so many acts of kindness; and she will always be fondly remembered and

Chuck, Mike and family, Lacy and I are so sorry for your loss. What a great lady, I never missed getting a hug and she was always encouraging me. She was a special person in my life for as long as I can remember. From the moment I came back to work in the family business she made sure I got involved in things throughout the city. She truly cared about things that would make Longview a better place to live. She has been missed in the civic arena in Longview and there will never be another Mary Helen. God Bless you all.
