Mary Aletha Berwick's Obituary
Mary Aletha Berwick passed away on Monday October 4, 2010. A funeral Mass for Aletha will be at 10am Friday October 8, 2010 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Gladewater Texas followed by a Christian burial at Union Grove Cemetery.
A visitation and rosary will be recited at Rader funeral home in Longview. Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm and the rosary will begin at 7pm.
Aletha was born January 27, 1916 to John and Margaret Smith. She was a native of East Texas and the last living member of John and Margaret Smith. Mother enjoyed gardening and took great pride in her beautiful yard, but her greatest joy was her family and friends who were always welcomed to wonderful meals in her home. She was preceded in death by her husband Lee and her son Art, her parents, three brothers and three sisters. Survivors includes her sons John Berwick of Longview Texas, Larry Berwick and his wife Jan of White Oak Texas; daughters, Charlotte Hensley and her husband Kenneth of Longview Texas, Sylvia Mobley and her husband Randy of Shreveport Louisiana and eleven grand children and eighteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Nana's caregivers in Shreveport for the care, comfort and love they gave to Nana. The family would ask that memorial contributions be made to charity of their choice in Mrs. Berwick's name.
