Marvin R. Watley's Obituary
Marvin R. Watley passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2012 at Beacon Hospice in Longview, Texas.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Friday, June 8, 2012 at Rosewood Park Cemetery. There will be a visitation Thursday, June 7, 2012 from 7 PM to 8 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home Longview.
He was born March 2, 1936 in Annona, Red River County, Texas to Hobart and Lillie Pearl Peek Watley.
Marvin joined the Air Force in 1954, he proudly served for 20 years, serving one year in the Vietnam Conflict. Upon retiring he and his family moved to Longview. He worked for Trinity Industries as a welder.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Bailey Watley; brothers, Cecil, Sebern and Amos Watley.
He is survived by his sister, Fay Watley Grooves of Ravenna, Texas; three sons, Carl and wife, Peggy of Gilmer, Texas; Danny and wife, Boni of Dallas, Texas; Melvin and wife, Tina of Upshur County, Texas; one grandson, Jon Marc Watley and wife Jo Ann Watley.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Cancer Society.
