Marvin Slaback's Obituary
Funeral services for Marvin Slaback will be held at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Longview at 10 am on Thursday, June 30 with burial to follow at LaGrones Chapel Cemetery. There will be a visitation the night before at Rader’s from 5 to 7 pm.
Marvin passed away June 26, 2016 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Baraboo, Wisconsin on July 12, 1930. He served in the U.S. Air Force stationed at Barksdale AFB and in French Morocco North Africa and was a veteran of the Korean War. Marvin moved to Longview in 1950 and worked at Standard Tool. Graduated from LeTourneau and he and his partner owned and operated Mineral Processing and Equipment.
Marvin is preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita, brothers; Carl Slaback and LaVerne Slaback, and his step-son, Jerry Melton.
He is survived by relatives in Wisconsin; Elaine and Tony Baxter, Darlene and Jim Retzloff, Janice Harpold and Peggy Slaback. His wife of 30 years, Mary Ann Slaback. Children; Fred and wife Debbie Slaback, Dwight Slaback, Kim and husband Danny Langston, three grandchildren; Jason and wife Hollie Slaback, Julie and husband Larry Gonzales, Philip and wife Maricela Langston, Kathryn Whiddon and three great grandchildren and step-son, Ron and wife Gail Melton.
Pallbearers will be, Stanley Mayhan, Corey Puckett, Steve Smith, Lee Armstrong, Larry Gonzales and Tony Baxter
