Marvel Miller Mitchell McGee's Obituary
Graveside services for Marvel Miller Mitchell McGee, 87, of Longview will be held at 12 Noon Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001 at Memory Park Cemetery with the Reverend Dewayne Beaty officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Monday at the funeral home. She died Sunday in Longview.
Mrs. McGee was born August 6, 1914 in Clyde, Ohio to Hayden B. and Iva Hawk. In years past, she was a dietitian for the Ohio school system, and in the early forty?s, during war time, she was a welder at a defense plant in Ohio. For a good number of years, she and her husband were co-owners of the Wonder Bread Store in Longview. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Longview.
Mrs. McGee was preceded in death by her husbands, Ivan Miller, R.L. Mitchell and Harold McGee; parents; sisters, Glenna LaGrou and Elaine Turner.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Gilbert ''Gib'' and Sandra Miller of Longview and Hayden Lynn Mitchell of Longview; grandchildren, Dawn Miller of Longview, Keith Miller and his wife Chyrisse and their children, Grant, Matthew, and Caroline Miller all of Austin, Susan Miller Riley and her husband Mike and their children, Adyson, Alexandra, and Alyssa Riley, all of Frisco; brother-in-law, Arlie Turner of California; step-sons and their wives, Harold ''Sonny'' and Gay McGee, David and Liz McGee and their families; step-daughter, Mary Colter; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lynn and H.L. Martin and Mattie and T.D. Kellow.
