Martha Young Barrett's Obituary
Graveside services for Martha Rebecca Young Barrett will be Thursday, February 12, 2009 at11:00 AM at New Hope Cemetery. Services will be performed by Bro. Randy Sceroler. Visitation will be in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00-7:30 PM on Wednesday, February 11, 2009.
Martha was the sixth of nine children born to Arch and Mittie Allen Young in the Chickenfeather community. She was preceded in death by her parents, six siblings, her husband, Casey L. Barrett, and one daughter, Beth Barrett Shepard. Martha was a charter member of Hillview Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Casey Barrett and wife Gina of Whitehouse; two daughters, Marlene Barrett McGlaun and husband Billy of Elkhart, and Melinda Barrett Christian and husband Sonny of Henderson.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren who lovingly called her Grandma or Marshie. They are Paige Christian Keitt, Tammie Leverett Hunt, Courtney Christian, Shannon McGlaun Fox, Chris McGlaun, Andi Leverett Self, Holly Christian McBerty, Jason Barrett, and Chris Gomez.
Martha was also blessed with nineteen great grandchildren; Christian and Collyn Keitt, Jeff and Candace Copeland, Kylie, Loren, and Sydney Christian, Kaysi and Adam Fox, Shelby, Travis, and Trey McGlaun, Kasidy and Dillan Self, Colby and Holden McBerty, Corbin and Casey Barrett and Lee Gomez.. She also had two great-great granddaughters; Aria Copeland and Sarah Grace Fox.
She is also leaving behind two sisters, Helen Tillison of Livingston and Josie Dorsey of Abingdon, Maryland. Also many nieces and nephews who always loved to go to Marshie and Uncle Casey's house.
Her grandchildren will honor her as pallbearers.
