Michael Shepperd
My grandmother was a strong loving woman. In the long hot and humid East Texas summers, I could talk her into to just about anything. Riding on the back of my motor cycle, building tree houses, board games, hunting and fishing.
She taught me about God and took me to Sardis Baptist church which taught me faith and where I was eventually led to Christ. At 13 years old in a little Sunday school class Mrs. Dorthy Jacobs led me to our savior.
Christianity is a struggle and serving God requires discipline. One of the toughest parts of being a Christian is understanding you are imperfect. Understanding every man/woman is a sinner, do not judge, but lead by example. Everyone is worthy!
Without God's word it is easy to get lost in darkness and untruths of the world. In the dark, nothing is clear. Uncertainty leads to distress and you become numb of right and wrong. When you feel lost and alone in the dark, your life and purpose can lose meaning.
Remember everyone is a child of God and his love for you is unconditional.
"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8:38-39, KJV
Granny, thanks for unselfishly making time for me throughout my child and adult life. I knew I could always tell you anything and you wouldn't judge me.
Love you,
Mike
