Mrs Martha was such a fun, loving, and giving lady. I meet her and her husband and kiddos around 1974 at Greggton Missionary Baptist Church. She always had a smile and something funny to say. She loved her church family so much. She was certainly a “one if a kind” Mom, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed.
Martha was a true friend who was always willing to help anyone who had a need if she possibly could. I knew that if I had a special prayer request or burden that she would pray for me. I was always welcome in her home. When my husband was disabled with a terminal disease, she sent a card every week for almost a year to encourage us and to assure us of her prayers. She kept me informed about friends of long ago when our families were members of Greggton Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Praying for comfort for all the family!
I was saddened to hear of Mrs. Martha passing away,but quickly had a smile when thinking of all the fond memories of her. She and her wonderful family was my neighbor growing up in Longview. We affectionately called her Mrs. Martha. She would do anything for anyone any time. If you needed help, she would come running -- literally. I recall every Christmas she would make edible Christmas trees made from cheerios, green food coloring and gum drops for the ornaments. My siblings and I looked forward to Mrs. Martha's trees. Periodically she would make us cream puffs. My daughter still remembers Mrs.Martha and remembered going over across the street while visiting her grandparents to see Mrs. Martha and family. She remembers playing in their yard with her cousins. Mrs. Martha always welcomed us to their home each time we came to Longview for a visit after moving to Midlothian..We were all like family. We had a key to each others house and she was on every school form until graduation from High School. We always knew we could count on Mrs. Martha.Don and Vilia, please know you are in my thoughts and prayers!!

Martha was unique & often made people around her laugh. We enjoyed her at Longview Missionary Baptist Church. Prayers to the family.
Martha will be missed at church! Her Sunday School class was across the hall from mine and my husband's, and every Sunday (before Covid restrictions) she would come over to our classroom and speak to each of us. Her wit and humor were unmatched by anyone I have ever met. Sour moods were not allowed in her presence, and it only took a few moments with her before you would be smiling or laughing out loud. Yes, she was "one of a kind," and she will be missed. Love and prayers for her precious family!

Don Mark and Vilia, I am so sorry for your loss. Mike and I met your mother and dad when we joined Greggton Missionary Baptist many years ago. She was the sweetest lady.... always had a great sense of humor. I know she will be missed by many. My prayers for you and your family. Sharon Bolton
