Martha Baggett Schwartz's Obituary
Services for Martha Baggett Schwartz, 58, of White Oak will be held at 10 AM Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Mobberly Baptist Church with Dr. Greg Zackary and Dr. Glynn Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
A beloved wife, mother and friend, Martha went to be with her Lord on Monday, December 8, 2008. She was born on November 19, 1950 in Gilmer, Texas to Billy and Dorothy Baggett. Martha was preceded in death by her parents.
She and her husband, Bob, were married on May 12, 1972 in Marshall, Texas. Martha graduated from Lamar High School in Beaumont, Texas in 1969 and from East Texas Baptist University in 1972. She was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, a greeter, and was an active member of numerous committees. She was a lifetime member of Texas State Teachers Association and received the honor of teacher of the year in 2006. Martha was a dedicated Christian who loved the Lord. She loved her family, especially her two boys, Stephen and David. They were her pride and joy.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 36 years, Bob Schwartz; sons, Stephen Drue Schwartz and David Aaron Schwartz of White Oak; her sister, Glenda Stewart of Waco, TX; aunt, Gwen Cantrell; and special friend Billie Jordan nieces and nephews, Holly Bourland and husband Mark; Randy and Karin Stewart, Holcomb and Erin Stewart, Greg and Joy Schwartz, Scott and Julana Schwartz, Heather and Dave Cummings, Heath Schwartz, and Whitney and Welby Jordan.
Martha's joy for life and her unending Christian spirit have always been an inspiration to all near to her. Her contagious laugh and love for her friends and family will continue to ring true.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Hope Closet on Highway 80 or to the charity or your choice.
