Marlene Rousseau Hooks' Obituary
Funeral services for Marlene Rousseau Hooks, age 75, of Henderson will be held Wednesday March 5, 2008 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Henderson with the Rev. Ralph Rudy officiating, burial will follow in the Welch Cemetery.
Mrs. Hooks passed away Sunday Night March 2, 2008, at her residence.
Marlene was born September 27, 1932 in Rusk County and was a lifetime resident of the county. She was salutatorian of the 1950 graduating Class of Henderson High School, and she was a graduate of Texas Womens University. On December 17, 1955 she married Jack Hooks at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Henderson. She worked in accounting/bookkeeping for the Anderson Hickey Company for more than 20 years before retiring. Marlene loved traveling, shopping for and collecting turtle figurines and jewelry. She was active in the Sharon Mini Patrol wives group, and other Shrine activities with her husband, she also loved participating in the activities of her children and grandchildren, and activities of her graduating class.
She was preceded in death by her parents Barney J. & Veasey Rousseau.
She is survived by her husband Jack Hooks of Henderson, daughters Cindy Belcher of Henderson & Tammy Hooks of Waco, son Richard "Rick" Hooks and wife Patty of Pearland, brother Carl Rousseau of Tyler, grandchildren Melissa & Marla Belcher of Henderson, Lainee & Brian Hooks of Pearland.
Pallbearers will be Byron Deason, H.D. Coursey, Billy Zager, Dalton Jones, Don Hereford, and Royce Dunlap. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the 1950 Henderson High School graduating class.
The family will meet friends at the Funeral Home from 6pm – 8pm Tuesday
