Mark Eugene Parkhurst's Obituary
Mark Eugene Parkhurst,75, of Longview, Texas, finished his Earthly travels on January 1, 2019 and returned to his heavenly home. He fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith.
Mark was born September 11, 1943 to Jesse and Pearl Parkhurst of Bristow, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of 6 children. Mark graduated from Bristow High School and attended Oklahoma University. He married the love of his life, Charlotte Jean on Valentine’s Day. They shared almost 55 years of life and love. He was a salesmen and pumper, but his favorite roles were husband, grandpa, great grandpa and friend. He loved playing games and traveling, but most of all, loved the Lord his God with all his heart. He served the Lord as a Member of the executive board of Daughters of Zion Ministry, Founder and leader of the Ten Men Ministry, Care Leader at COTR, Church on the Rock, leader of the Season Warrior Group at COTR, and Care Pastor of a Longview Metro small group.
Mark is survived by his wife Charlotte; his sons and their wives Gary and Kim, Ronnie and Dee Dee, and Keith and Dana Parkhurst; his grandchildren Josh Parkhurst, Anna Berthoff, Rachel Parkhurst, Royse Parkhurst, and Katie Parkhurst; three great grandsons, Liam, Elliot, and Aiden; sister Joyce O’Neal and brother Danny Parkhurst. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Pearl Parkhurst and his siblings Loreen Renfrow, Jimmy Lee Parkhurst, and Darleen Carmen.
A memorial service in his honor will be held at Remnant Church, 4344 US 259 Longview, Texas 75605, on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00am. Pastor Rusty Brady and Pastor Tom McDaniels, will officiate the service. Mark was a big supporter of the Daughters of Zion kids feeding program in Honduras. He loved these kids. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to DOZ, Honduras Feeding Program at PO BOX 672, Judson, Tx 75660.
