When my brother, David, and I were little, we lived in Minden and the Hays family were our cousins. They would come to see us and play. One time we went fishing in a pasture pond and Mark (whom we called Mickey back then) took me aside and wanted to teach me how to fish. He patiently showed me how to bait a hook and he threw the line out in the water. He said now let’s sit here and hold onto the pole and be real quiet and real still. It wouldn’t be very long before we caught one and we would do it all again. I always have remembered that. We are so sorry for your loss and I wish I could have come and brought my Mama, Sippy, to see you all. We are thinking of you all during this sad time.
With lots of love,
Cyndy (daughter of Hootsy and Sippy Cates)
