Marita "Rita" June Moser's Obituary
Family and friends are welcome to celebrate the life of Rita Moser on Monday, August 14th at 2 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, Texas. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. earlier that day.
Rita was born on January 29, 1943 in Shamrock, Texas to Homer and Hazel Chapman. She married L.A. “Bud” Moser on February 23,1960 and was blessed with two daughters, Mary Jo and Kim. Over the years they lived and worked across the United States. Rita took many different career paths over her lifetime, from working at the Vernon State Hospital assisting with drug and alcohol abuse patients, managing a grocery store, earning her beautician license from Brazosport Beauty School, and owning Rita’s Kountry Kitchen in New Diana, Texas. For the last nineteen years she owned and operated Rita’s Resale, a new and used furniture store, also in New Diana.
Rita had a true passion for travel and enjoyed taking cruises. She also enjoyed cooking for her large family, caring for many pets, attending the Open Range Cowboy Church, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had an incredibly strong bond and friendship with her daughters. She truly lived her life to the fullest.
Rita was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by one brother, two sisters, her husband, two daughters, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Rita had a big heart and generous spirit. In lieu of flowers the family asks that gifts be given to one of her favorite charities: The Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center or The Ronald McDonald House.
She will be greatly missed.
