Marilyn Ann Marshall's Obituary
Marilyn Ann Bronson Marshall was born November 13, 1934 in Topeka, Kansas and passed away on December 25, 2020 in Longview, Texas. She married the love of her life, Melvin Lee Marshall on June 4, 1956 in Dallas, Texas. Melvin preceded her in death just earlier in the year, March 6, 2020. Marilyn graduated high school in 1952 and went on to earn her Bachelors degree in fine arts music/voice from ETSU and then her Masters in the same field at Stephan F. Austin State University. For 5 years she taught voice lessons at Kilgore College, but for 30 years she was the Choral Director at Kilgore High School. Marilyn lived at Lake Ouachita in Arkansas for 16 years where she loved spending time with family and friends. She loved camping, water sports and snow skiing in Colorado. She was a big fan of tennis and flying with Mel in their private plane. But Marilyn's "passion for life" was Choral directing and teaching the love of music to her many beloved students. She taught much more than music. Such as, responsibility, drive and a passion for life.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Allen and Gloria LoRene Bronson, her husband Melvin Marshall, brother, Max Bronson and her daughter in law Donna Marshall. She is survived by her sons, Bronson Marshall and Terrell Marshall and Wife Tinalin. Her grandkids, Adam Marshall, Wimberly Marshall Whiteman and husband Justin, Matt Marshall and wife Ashton, Mallory Marshall and Mitchell Marshall and wife Lauren. She is also survived by her great grandkids, Jackson, Avery and Addison.
A memorial service for Marilyn will be held on January 28 at 2 pm at Mobberly Baptist Church (The Crossing).
