Marie Collier Butler's Obituary
Marie Collier Butler, age 90, passed away on April 3, 2019.She was born to Ernest and Helen
Louis, May 7, 1928, in Vicksburg, MS.
Marie graduated from Hattiesburg High School, Hattiesburg, MS, in 1946.
On October23, 1947, she married the love of her life, Leon Collier. They moved often
for 24 years because of his career in the military. They settled in Vicksburg, MS for 10 years
before his death in 1981. Marie moved in 1988 to the Longview and Hallsville, TX area where
she lived for the next 31 years
Marie is survived by a daughter: Shirley Campbell, husband Johnny, Hallsville, TX, two
grandchildren: Marie Shelton, husband Stephen, Longview, TX; Bobby Campbell, wife
Courtney, Hallsville, TX and four great-grandchildren: Hayden and Parker Shelton, Cord and
Collier Campbell. A few nephews and nieces and cousins remain in MS to cherish her memory.
A graveside service will be held in Laurel, MS, at Memorial Gardens at 11:00 on April 11, 2019.
