Funeral Services for Marie Abernathy Hurst, 87, of Longview will be held at Ten O?clock A.M. Monday June 17, 2002
at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel 1617 Judson Road with Reverend Chuck Warnock officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Park Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Hurst died Saturday June 15, 2002 in Longview.
She was born March 2, 1915 in Commerce to Marvin & Bertha Abernathy and had lived in Longview since 1927. She was a graduate of Longview High School. She attended East Texas University, Texas Women?s University in Denton, B.M.I. Business School. She retired as Assistant Gregg County Auditor and was a member of Church on the Rock.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Judy Hurst of Henderson, Texas; three grandchildren, William "Ab" Hurst and wife Christy of Longview; Valerie H. Jernigan and husband Blaine of Henderson; Clayton Hurst and wife Ashlee of Longview;
five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband William C. Hurst, Jr.
