Maria Elena "Baby" Mick's Obituary
Maria Elena ("Baby") Mick, loving wife of Ed Mick and mother of Jhoel DeGuzman passed away May 23rd.
A visitation will be held at Rader Funeral Home in Longview on Friday, May 27, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Baby was born in the Philippines on August 30, 1949 and from an early age her mission was to come to America, where she said "everything is in technicolor." She finally made it in 1974 and lived a grateful life every day since. Her name truly fit, with her big easy smile and laugh and little-girl voice that sometimes made it hard for her to place orders over the phone. "Could you please put your mother on the phone," she'd often be told.
Even as she had to begin thrice-weekly dialysis, she kept her happy nature, befriending the nurses and taking delight in handing out small gifts to fellow-patients and the DaVita staff.
Her passing has made the world a little less joyful, but the memories of her will always bring laughs and smiles to those who knew her/
