Margrette Helen Threadgill's Obituary
Funeral services for Margrette Helen Threadgill, of Longview, who passed away, Sunday, February 21, 2016, will be held at 2 p.m Friday, February 26, 2016 with Tim Pool officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30-2:00 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home in Henderson, Texas. Burial will follow at Rusk County Memorial Gardens of Henderson.
Margrette Helen Threadgill was born February 10, 1928 in Idabel, OK to Virgie and Rancie Owens which included 1 brother and 2 sisters who have all preceded her in death; W.I Owens, Esma Johnston, and Virginia Darden.
Margrette (also known as Grandma T by her family) married her husband, Edelle Threadgill, on June 19, 1948. They lived in Kilgore, TX for most of their 59 years of marriage. Primarily a homemaker, Margrette especially loved working with flowers in her yard. Throughout the years, she occasionally worked as a bookkeeper at JC Penney’s department store in downtown Kilgore.
Margrette and Edelle were both long time members of Laird Hill Methodist Church after their marriage. She taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, and was active in the Women’s Circle.
Her loving husband, Edelle, precedes her in death. Survivors include her son, Ronnie and wife, Laura of Mt. Enterprise; daughter, Kay Robey and husband, Charles “Bubba” Robey of Longview. Six grandchildren, Chad and Vicky Robey, Courtney Threadgill and Allen Ramsey, Kristen and Tim Pool, Blake Robey, Pat and Christa Robey, Erin and Scott Hines. She was also blessed to have six great-grandchildren Connar Pool, Taylor McGuire, Sawyer Pool, Marlie Pool, Bryson Robey, and McKenna Robey. She also claimed Andy, Matt, Michael, Hannah, Sammy, Brooks, and Braden.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Chad Robey, Blake Robey, Pat Robey, Connar Pool, as well as Allen Ramsey, and Tim Pool. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons, Taylor McGuire, Sawyer Pool, and Bryson Robey.
