Margie Gibson's Obituary
Margie Parker Gibson was born in Marshall, Texas on December 11, 1921, and passed away on January 15, 2013 at the age of 91.
Margie was a resident of Longview for the past 31 years. Her life centered around her family and friends, and she had an avid love for animals, plants, and flowers. She was well known for her quick-witted spirit and her unlimited supply of candid quotes. She also enjoyed her evenings out playing shuffleboard.
She served on the boards of directors of Community Bank, Longview, Texas Lone Star Bank, Lone Star, Texas and First State Bank, Avinger, Texas, for over twenty years.
Margie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Diane Gibson of Longview; four grandchildren, McKenzie Akin of Oklahoma City and her husband, Zac, Kyle Nelson of Tyler and his wife, Mandy, Chad Gibson of Guadalajara, Mexico and Ty Gibson of Houston; two great grandchildren, Hudson Akin and Carter Akin of Oklahoma City; her brother, Edgar Parker of Texarkana and one nephew.
Se was preceded in death by her husband, Ben V. Gibson, her parents, Joe and Florence Parker, her sister, Monte Parker and her brother, Arthur Lee Parker.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church Chapel with Monsignor Carson Lacaze, a family friend, and Rev. Roy James officiating. Graveside services will follow at Algoma Cemetery in Marshall, Texas will follow under direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview,
