Mrs. French was called home peacefully in her sleep, after a long illness on Saturday January 7, 2006 at 7:30 AM.
Mrs. French was born October 1, 1917, in Weston, Texas to Willie Irene and Roscoe Joe Stephens. Affectionately known to many as Me Mommy, she will be remembered for her jovial personality, loving wisdom, her mercy and compassion and her walk with the Lord. She lived her life by the Lord?s example. She loved nature and even in the hard and difficult times she always recalled some blessing the Lord had provided for her in the past and that quickly took her mind to something of beauty and goodness to give God praise for. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother , great-grandmother and friend, for whom it will be an honor to follow in her foot steps. All of her family and friends will cherish her memory. She has been a servant to many. She has loved and prayed for all her family. She was a precious helpmate and servant to her husband of 57 years, Art, who was the love of her life, and now she is at total peace with her Maker and Father, waiting on the rest of us to join her when God calls us home.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Greta Curtis and husband, Fred of Longview and Beverly Bryd of Sugarland, TX.; 4 grandchildren, Don Curtis of Baltimore, Maryland, Dan Curtis and wife Ann of Houston, Ginger Dudjak and husband Scott of Sugarland, Texas, Tracee Davis and husband Jeff of Missouri City, Texas, and 2 great grandchildren Kenny Dudjak and Rylee Davis and two nephews, Darwin Stephenson of Longview and Stephen Wertheimer of Greenwich, Conn.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6pm until 8 pm Monday January 9, 2006.
