Graveside services for Margaret Gatlin Akin, 88, of Longview will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Memory Park Cemetery, Longview. Burial will be under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. She died August 19, 2009 in a Longview hospital.
Mrs. Akin was born January 14, 1921, in Jacksonville, TX to Henry and Sonora Sharp and had been a resident of Longview since 1939. She was retired from Sears where she worked in sales.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Gatlin and her husband Alvie Akin, and her daughter, Sandra Harris.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Nita Gatlin of Long Branch, TX; grandchildren, Jeff Hahne and wife Ruby of Longview, Jason Gatlin of Albuquerque, NM, and Chris Gatlin of Glendale, AZ; 8 great grandchildren; and niece, Peggy Gatlin-Cox of Lake Cherokee.
