Margaret Lee Gibson Brown's Obituary
Margaret Lee Gibson Brown was born on December 13, 1933, in Hallsville, TX, to Daniel Mercer and Ruby Lee Watson Gibson. She recently turned 90 years old. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 28, 2023.
Margaret married Langston Brown on October 4, 1952. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hallsville, TX. She started her career working for the telephone company and worked for many years at Texas Tire Exchange and at the First United Methodist Church in Hallsville. She was also a member and Past Worthy Grand Matron of the Hallsville Chapter #995, Order of the Eastern Star. She cherished her visits from her “grand-dog Piggy” but most of all she loved when her family and friends came to visit.
Margaret is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Hermie Brown; daughter and son-in law, Carolyn and Michael Ball; grandsons, Steven Ball and wife, Lori; Gary Ball and wife, Natalie; great- grandchildren, Christian Ball and wife, Nicole; Britten Ball and Rosalyn Ball; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Ruby Gibson; her husband, Langston Brown; her sister, Dannie Myrle Fleming; her brother James “Sonny” Gibson; her twin sister, Mary Southerland; and her twin great-grandsons, Dallas and Aiden Ball.
The family would like to express their thanks to her caregivers Charlsa Stoker, Alice Brown, Tiffany Ford, hospice nurse Jenna Sanchez and the staff of Hospice of East Texas.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Gum Springs Cemetery at 2250 Gum Springs Rd., Longview, TX, officiated by her grandson, Steven Ball. Visitation will be Monday, January 1, 2024, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home, Longview, TX.
