Margaret Ann Merritt Wells
Services for Margaret Ann Merritt Wells will be at 4 PM Monday, September 29, 2003 at the First Methodist Church in Hallsville, with Pastor Randy Hageman officiating. Entombment will follow in Rosewood Park?s Chapel Mausoleum in Longview. Arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Sunday at the funeral home, 1617 Judson Road.
Ms. Wells was born on August 22, 1945 in Conway, South Carolina to Ellis and Evelyn Merritt. She went to be with her Lord on date after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Ms. Wells was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was an active member of the Hallsville First Methodist Church, where she served her Lord in various ways. She served the East Texas area as a nurse for the past 33 years.
Ms. Wells was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Merritt and Kevin Glanton of Longview, TX, Jodi and JC Bonet of Jacksonville, TX, and Jamie and Paul Correale of Oahu, Hawaii; one grandson, Anthony Correale of Oahu, Hawaii; a special friend, Gene McCleney of Hallsville, TX; three brothers and one sister, Ellis Merritt of Lewisville, TX, Mitchell Merritt of Clemson, SC, Fred Merritt of New York City, NY, and Josephine Peck of Greenville, SC; extended family, Sherer Murtiashaw of Olympia, WA, Dan Brook of New York City, NY, and Carol Chestnut of Conway, SC; several uncles and aunts including Lynn and Lila Richardson of Waynesville, NC, Clyde and Dorothy Richardson of Loris, SC; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of wonderful and caring friends.
Ms. Wells? life was a reflection of Matthew 22:39 ??You shall love your neighbor as yourself.? To all those who have reciprocated this in any way, the family wishes to say a heartfelt thank you.
