Mancil Allison Dickson
Mancil Allison Dickson, 87, of Henderson, Texas, passed away at 10:56 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview, Texas. Mancil was born December 8, 1924, in Sour Lake, Texas, to Herbert Allison and Faye Jett Dickson. Mancil was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Henry Dickson, his father, Herbert Allison Dickson, his mother, Faye Jett Dickson, his sister, Billie Dubois, and his son, Ricky Allison Dickson. Mancil is survived by his sisters Jean Wilson of Longview, Texas, JoAnn Woolley of Bullard, Texas, and Carolyn Boyd of Kentucky.
Mancil, at the age of 20, married Ruth Henry Dickson on December 23, 1944, in Overton, Texas. His children are daughter, Margie Ann Hammond, and husband, John Hammond, of Plano, Texas; deceased son, Ricky Allison Dickson; and daughter, Melissa Anyse Haden, and husband, Michael Haden, of Tatum, Texas. His grandchildren are Shayne Allison Silvertooth, Shawna Anyse Burger, and Madelyn Anyse Haden. His great-grandchildren are Brenna Ann Arthur, Mia Angelee Silvertooth, and Bentley Raye Burger.
Mancil served in the Army Air Corp Air Force from June 7, 1943 to February 14, 1946. Mancil was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the American Theater Ribbon.
Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Rader Funeral Home, in Longview, Texas. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012, at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Longview, Texas. There will be a Remembrance Gathering after the graveside services at the home of Michael and Melissa Haden in Tatum 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
