Malcolm Marvin Wright's Obituary
Malcolm Wright passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, at home at 91 years old. He was born in Jonesville LA to William and Lillie Wright. Malcolm joined the United States Navy in 1954, where he served his country as a frog man, ultimately retiring in 1974 as DMC Chief Draftsman NAVY SEAL. He attended college at Tennessee Baptist Temple University in Chattanooga, Tennessee where he earned his Bachelor degree, he then earned a Masters of Education from Stephen F. Austin before settling in East Texas where he taught/coached at Union Grove ISD and White Oak ISD until his retirement.
He is preceded death by his beautiful bride Margaret Wright of 69 years as well as his son Michael Wright and daughter Ginger Tolbert. Left to cherish his memory is his granddaughter Holly Gilliam, great-granddaughter Alexandrea Gilliam, and his sisters family as well as a host of former students.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 2:00 PM with a visitation starting at 1:00 PM held at the East Mountain Baptist Church. He will be laid to rest in the East Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.
