Madrenne Irene Tate's Obituary
Madrenne Irene Fliss Tate, 82, passed peacefully at a care facility in Waco, TX, into the arms of her Heavenly Savior on Sunday, December 20.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:30am, Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Longview TX with Pastor Dennis Bragdon Officiating. Visitation will start at 10:30am prior to the service, and the graveside service will follow later that afternoon at 2pm at Corinth Cemetery in Timpson, TX. Serves are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, TX.
Madrenne was born October 20, 1933 in Dickinson County, Iowa to Leland Edward Fliss and Irene Anna Winklemann Fliss. She and her parents moved to Whittier, California when she was five, and there attended schools, graduating from Whittier High in 1951.
Madrenne and Bernell Tate were united into marriage on August 9, 1974.
Madrenne was employed as an office manager and book keeper at various construction companies, and then at the Fox News station in Longview, from which she retired. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Longview. She loved her church and church family.
Madrenne was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, her parents, and a brother, George Henry Fliss.
Those left to cherish Madrenne’s memory are her son, Wayne Wigley and wife Christine, daughters; Charlene Murphree and Mark, Cathy Smith and Danny, Gail Petty and Craig. Four stepsons; Terry Tate and wife Tina, Tony Tate, Tim Tate and wife Cindy, and Travis Tate and wife Rita along with sisters-in-law; Carol Fliss and Billie Jane Sturdivant and a brother-in-law, David Tate. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Madrenne also has several cousins in California, and many friends in the Gilmer/Longview areas.
