Macra Walker
Services for Macra Walker, 92, formerly of Nacogdoches, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 2004 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches. Rev. David Massey will be officiating at both services. Mrs. Walker died Friday morning.
Mrs. Walker was born on July 13, 1912, in Silsbee, TX., to Lillie and C. Ross Jenkins. A former resident of Nacogdoches, Mrs. Walker has resided in Longview since 1989. She was retired from retail at a children?s clothing store in Nacogdoches. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nacogdoches. Mrs. Walker is a 1934 graduate of Stephen F. Austin and a member of the Folklore Society. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and admiring nature.
A loving mother, grandmother, and friend, Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Walker; mother and father, Lillie and C. Ross Jenkins of Nacogdoches; daughter and son-in-law, Tommy and Shirley Atkins of White Oak, TX.; and her brother Slade Jenkins of Houston, TX. She is survived by her grandson Tracy Atkins and his wife, Krystal of Longview; two great-grandchildren, Tana and Tate Atkins; one step-great-grandchild, Keithan West; sister, Eunice Boulet of Houston; and a nephew, Ross Boulet also of Houston.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
