Mabel Rivers' Obituary
Graveside services for Mabel Rivers, age 88 of Mt. Enterprise, will be held Thursday June 11, 2009 at 10:00am in the King Cemetery near Mt. Enterprise with Leroy Sedgwick officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Henderson.
Mrs. Rivers died Monday June 8, 2009 in a Nacogdoches nursing facility.
Mabel Rivers was born January 24, 1921 in Rusk County and was a lifelong resident of the county. She graduated Mt. Enterprise High School in 1939 and was salutatorian of her class. She was a member of the Mt. Enterprise Church of Christ. She was a retired business owner having owned and operated many businesses in Mt. Enterprise.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Floy Booker Anderson; brothers James E. Anderson Jr. and Billy John Anderson.
She is survived by her husband Jimmie Rivers of Mt. Enterprise who she married on July 15, 1939; son Barry Rivers & wife Deidra of Mt. Enterprise; grandson Chris Rivers & wife Tiffany of Nacogdoches; granddaughter Bettie Cabrera & husband Armando of Irving, great grandchildren Hadyn Rivers , Cade Rivers of Nacogdoches and Sofia Cabrera of Irving. Also special caregivers Carolyn McAlister and Lanell Ross both of Mt. Enterprise.
