Lywane Davis Ousley's Obituary
Lywane Palmer began her earthly journey on November 22, 1931, born to the parents of Clarence Palmer, Sr, and Lola Lucille (Smith) Palmer at the family homestead in Hallsville, TX. She was raised and graduated from high school in Hallsville. Lywane then attained her college education from East Texas Baptist University where she successfully completed her bachelors in education. Her first assignment as an attractive young lady was at the high school level in Kilgore. Following a short stint there she successfully advanced to instructing business courses at Kilgore College for 33 years. She met and fell in love with her husband Bill R. (BR) Davis to whom their only child, Kelly Wane Davis, was born.
She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church (Kilgore) and truly was proud to be a strong representative for the beautiful ladies of her Sunday school class. Traveling was one of her favorite past times as well as bonding with friends and family at Lake Cherokee.
Until recently, she was a very independent lady driving herself to her favorite places such as Church, weekly beauty shop visits, Kroger’s, Drug Emporium, etc. She was proud of the fact that she was able to perform this by herself at the young age of 91! She was called home to serve our Lord as an Angel over all of us on August 15, 2023.
Mrs. Davis-Ousley was preceded in death by her parents; son; first husband plus bonus husband Ira Ousley; her brothers – Clarence, Jr; Gene Earl; and Deral as well as many other precious family members and valued friends.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Tonya, grandchildren Mallory and Ashton to whom she dearly loved and adored, as well as the light of her life, Ellory Kay, which is her first born great-grandchild who shared special moments with her Nana thanks to her Mommy, Mal; her sister, Annette Gardner; sister-in-law Gail and her children Julie (Mark) Pierson and their children Reid (Brittany), Collin, and Anna Elizabeth; Anna (Richard); Brian (daughter Ashlyn), and Joel; nieces Lisa (Matthew) Moore III; Lori Wiley; and very special cousins and their families Linda Teel and Melanie Marples.
Online condolences may be offered at www.raderfh.com; in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church (www.fbckilgore.org) 501 E. North St. Kilgore TX 75662.
1 Corinthians 10:13:
God is faithful: He will not let you be tried beyond what you are able to bear, but with the trial will also provide a way so that you may be able to endure it.
