Lynelle Mackey Meyer
Memorial Services for Lynelle Mackey Meyer, 87 of Longview will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2006 Twelve O?clock Noon at Alpine Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Scott Mackey and Dr. Richard Hollingsworth officiating. A private gravesite service in the Church?s cemetery will precede the memorial service. Visitation will be held from six to eight pm on Monday at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd., November 27, 2006. Mrs. Meyer passed away Friday evening at a local hospital.
Lynelle Mackey Meyer was born November 28, 1918, to Lester L. and Winnie Woodall Mackey in Gregg County?s Tryon Community. She was raised at Omega and Judson. She graduated from Longview High School in 1936 and attended the College of Marshall and Texas Woman?s University.
Before she married and raised a family, Mrs. Meyer was a secretary for the Gregg County Extension Agent. She was active in Beta Sigma Phi during that time and became a charter member of the Tall Pines Chapter of American Business Women?s Association.
She was a member of Alpine Presbyterian Church and had served in many capacities with the Women of the Church and Evening Circle.
During her marriage to W. S. Meyer, she assisted him by working in his businesses.
Lynelle is survived by her daughters Cora Meyer of Carthage, and Kathy Meyer of Longview; a sister, Lou Ann Melton and a sister-in-law Nancy Mackey, both of Longview; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sylvia Meyer Donoho; sister, Woodie Lucy; and brother William L. Mackey.
The family would like to thank the medical personnel and caregivers who helped Lynelle over the years, with special thanks to Dr. Lawrence Roe; Dr. Rama Nayini; Dr. Bill Torres; Joe Dale Gravely and Don Gravely; and caregivers, Shekelia Cooper, Rebecca McClain and Linda Phillips.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alpine Church Cemetery Fund, 3100 Airline Road, Longview, TX 75605, or the Alpine Presbyterian Church, 135 Hiett Lane, Longview, TX 75605.
