Luther M. Chote's Obituary
Funeral services for Luther M. Chote , age 75 of Grand Saline formerly of Henderson, will be held Tuesday July 21, 2009 at 2:00pm in the Roquemore Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Leymoin Wiggins, and Brother Blake Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
Mr. Chote died Friday night July 17, 2009 in a Tyler Hospital.
Luther Chote was born August 10, 1933 in Summers, Arkansas, to Wallace & Martha Boone Chote. He was a retired truck driver for Cal Ark Trucking out of Little Rock, Arkansas with many awards for his safe driving record with over one million miles accident free. Mr. Chote was a member of the Roquemore Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a veteran having served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 in the 73rd Armored Field Artillery Battalion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Jesse Chote, and sister Susie Berry.
Survivors include his wife Ruthie Chote of Grand Saline, daughters & son-in-laws Cathy Johnson & Clifton, Rhonda Becerra & Martin, Joy Caldwell & Chris, Judy Carnes & Gerald, Deidre Smith & James Robert, and Quida Jones. Sons Jerry Chote, and David Chote, and Buddy Lambert. Brothers and sister-in-laws Richard & Peggy Chote of Quitman, Carl & Lucille Chote of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Sisters & brother –in-laws Mary & P.C. Howeth of Henderson, Barbara & Chuck Haufe of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and sister-in-law Dorothy Chote of Henderson. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Richard Gossett, Howard Gossett, Randy Chote, Russell Belcher, Charlie DuBoise, Forrest Haufe, and honorary pallbearer Zvi Becerra
The family will meet friends at the Church from 5pm – 7pm Monday night.
