Services for Luella Lansford
Allbright, 98, of Longview, will
be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 7,
2007, at Rader Funeral Home
Chapel, with the Reverend Jerry
Turner officiating. Burial will
follow in Memory Park Cemetery.
Luella passed away Friday,
May 4, 2007, at Summer Meadows
Nursing Home in Longview.
Luella Lansford Allbright was
born November 19, 1908, in
Crockett, Texas, to Hiram Gersham
Lansford and Agnes Lucille
McCarty Lansford. She
attended Crockett schools,
graduating from high school in
1926, complete Crockett Business
School, then worked at the
First National Bank in Crockett
until November 9, 1929, when
she married Harry Lee Allbright
Sr. and moved to Longview,
where they made their permanent
home.
Affectionately known as
?Mom? to her family, Luella was
a marvelous cook and enjoyed
sharing the fruits of her labor
with family and friends. For
years, her Italian cream and
pound cakes were spoken for
before the bake sales at the
First United Methodist Church
of Longview, where she had
been an active member for
more than 77 years, a member
of the UMW, the Clyde Hall
Sunday School Class and Pioneers.
She was also a member
of the Longview Women?s
Forum for a number of years.
After 33 years, Luella retired
from the former Longview
National Bank now Regions
and enjoyed traveling extensively
with her brothers as well
as groups. Also, an avid Bridge
player, she played several times
each week.
She was preceded in death
by her husband, Harry Allbright
Sr.; one son, George Roland
Allbright; her parents; three
brothers; one sister; and one
granddaughter.
She is survived by two sons
and their wives, Harry Lee Allbright
Jr. and wife, Gene, and
Philip Allbright and wife, Bonnie;
a daughter-in-law, Joyce Allbright,
all of Longview; a
brother, William C. ?Bill? Lansford
of Granbury; four grandsons;
four granddaughters; five
great-grandsons; six greatgranddaughters;
and one
great-great-grandson.
Memorial contributions may
be made to First United Methodist
Church of Longview, Heartsway Hospice or Texas Home Health Hospice.
The family will receive friends
from 4-6 p.m. Sunday evening,
May 6, 2007, at Rader Funeral
Home at 1617 Judson Road.
