Lucille K Carter -Collins' Obituary
Lucille Carter Collins, age 99, of Longview passed away
on July 28, 2010 at Good Shepherd Medical Center.
A celebration of her life will be held at Rosewood Park
Mausoleum on Saturday, July 31, 2010 @ 2:30pm with the Reverend Ben Clayton officiating. The family will be receiving friends at 2:00pm.
Lucille was born on November 18, 1910 in Lynn, Massachusetts, the daughter of Peter and Annie Drew.
She was educated in the Lynn Public Schools and was a bookkeeper before her marriage to Robert H. Carter in 1934. After her marriage she was a homemaker who was very devoted to her family. Later in life, she was a Red Cross volunteer Nurse?s Aide and also enjoyed some years as a church Nursery Worker.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her sister Phyllis McGlaughlin, and her husband Robert H. Carter. Left to cherish her memory, are her daughter and son-in-law, Bob and Pat Jefcoat of Longview, her son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Nancy Carter of St. Louis; seven grandchildren, Lori Greer and her husband, Brian of Longview, Sheri Schmitz and her husband, Ron, of Anchorage, Matt Carter of St. Louis, Mike Carter and his wife Donna of Virginia Beach and Alex, Emily, and Joey Carter of St. Louis; six great-grandchildren: Katie, Haley, and Annie Schmitz; Hannah and Benjamin Greer and Helena Carter.
A special note of thanks to Dr. Rusty Warden for his many years of outstanding care and to the nurses and staff on E100 and A400 at GSMC and to Dr Schottstaedt, Dr. Holder, and all of the staff at Beacon for their outstanding care.
