Lucille Wood Hancock's Obituary
Lucille Wood Hancock, 90, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026. She was born on June 1, 1935, in Fort Worth to W.W. Wood and Ellen Gertrude Bryan Wood. At the age of two, her family moved to Longview, where she would spend the remainder of her life surrounded by family, friends, and her church community.
Lucille graduated from Longview High School in 1953. She dedicated 33 years of service to LeTourneau Inc. before retiring in 2000. She was known for her strong work ethic, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family.
On March 31, 1963, Lucille was baptized, marking the beginning of a faithful walk with the Lord. She was a devoted member of Valley View Baptist Church, where she faithfully served on various committees and cherished her church family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Bobby G. Hancock; her parents; and her siblings, Eva Long, Reba Harbour, Mary Mowery, Hazel Jensen, Roy Wood, and Jeanette Fielder.
Lucille is survived by her sons, Robert Hancock and Jerry Hancock and wife Tanga; grandchildren Michael Hancock and wife Missa, Terri Hancock and Marcus Bush, and Brantsen Castloo and wife Kayla; great-grandchildren Trajan and Trenton Bush, Mason Hancock and wife Maci, and Ericksen and Kannen Castloo. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Services to honor Lucille’s life will be held Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
