Lucille Ann Jurenka's Obituary
Lucille Lou Jurenka of Longview was called to be with the Lord March 4, 2005. Lou was born September 24, 1911 in Ellsworth, Kansas. She was the second child of Harry and Margaret Witters.
She attended school in Bushton, Kansas and married Gilbert P. Jurenka of Holyrood, Kansas on December 25, 1932. She and her husband spent their child rearing years in Kansas, later moving to Andrews, Texas and then to Longview. Lou was a truly loving mother. She and Gib were ardent sports fans and drove many miles following their sons? athletic endeavors. Lou was also a very good golfer and won many tournaments in both Kansas and Texas.
Lou loved God. She was a devoted member of the Greggton United Methodist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gib, her sister, Minnie Fiest, and her brothers, Dan and H.O. Witters
She is survived by hers sons Gilbert Jurenka and his wife Shirley of Rockport, Texas and by Ronald and his wife Jerry Anne Jurenka of Longview, Texas along with 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She also leaves behind her special friend, Joyce Harley of Hallsville, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greggton United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held noon Monday, March 7th at the Greggton United Methodist Church with Revs. Lynne Settlemyre and Emmitt Barrow officiating.
