Lt Col. Oliver "Ollie" Lazare's Obituary
Lt Col. Oliver (Ollie) Lazare departed from this earth on Monday, June 26, 2017. There was nothing left unsaid or undone by him. Ollie Lazare enjoyed a full measure of life. He is survived by a loving wife of more than 60 years, three children, and four grandchildren. He gave 26 ½ years to a noble profession, serving this county in the USAF. After retiring from the Air Force, he started and built the first successful temporary help franchise in Longview, Texas. He has countless lifelong friends. He made his first hole-in-one when he was 70 years old and his second, hole-in-one when he was 77.
He never let life change his personality, sense of humor or character, more to the fact; he was a force of will that changed his own life and the lives of others for the better. Anyone who got to know Ollie knew him as a great father, husband and friend. He had a life well lived and he was well loved.
His last wishes were that we celebrate his life and not morn his departure. Saturday July 1st 2017 the Lazare family will be hosting a celebration of life. If you are friends of Ollie & Jewell Lazare contact [email protected] for details. If you are unable to attend you may send your well wishes, thoughts and prayers to the same email address.
With a grateful heart and with deep pride, we salute Command Pilot, Lt Col. Oliver Lazare, on his final flight.
Farewell and Godspeed.
