Loyd Ray Adkisson's Obituary
Loyd Ray Adkisson, age 74, of Longview, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side June 14, 2018. He was born to Albert and Zelma Adkisson in Hallsville October 9, 1943. It was in Hallsville he attended local schools growing up. Loyd entered the work force as a heavy equipment operator for the asphalt and paving industry then later worked and finally retired as the Transportation Director for the Spring Hill ISD. Loyd enjoyed spending time relaxing in his gazebo which he built himself, working in his yard, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory is his daughter Shelia Drewery and her husband Nolan, his favorite granddaughter Miss Abby and his favorite grandson Jeb (Jebo). He is also survived by two sisters Cordelia Doss and Nettie Smith.
Loyd’s beloved wife of 32 years Virginia Adkisson, brothers Scott, Olen, Gene, L.G., and James Vernon Adkisson, and sister Eva Mae Murrell all precede him in passing.
Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of viewing from 6pm-8pm, Monday, June 18, 2018 at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Funeral services will be 10am, Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Mulberry Springs Baptist Church with interment to follow at Grange Hall Cemetery.
