Loyce Ruth Webb's Obituary
Graveside services for Loyce Ruth ”Memaw” Butler Webb, 99, will be held Saturday July 17, 2021 at 10:00 am at Memory Park Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Carter officiating. Visitation will be Friday July 16, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Memaw died Tuesday, July 13, 2021 , at home in the arms of her girls.
Mrs. Webb was born July 16, 1921 in Upshur County Texas to Hans W. and Venie McLendon Butler. She attended schools in New Diana and graduated from Glenwood High School. She married J. T. “Red” Webb on December 31, 1946.
She worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell during the 1940’s. Later in life she worked as a school librarian at G. K. Foster Elementary. For the next 25 years she worked in the business offices of Good Shepherd Hospital until her retirement.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Webb was preceded in death by her infant sister, Wanda Durene Butler; her parents; brothers Louis D. and Tom Butler; and sister Audrey Rainey.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Bonita “Bunnye” and Johnny Minchew of Tyler; daughter and son-in-law Susan and Richard Bradley of Longview; her grandchildren, Melissa Scott and her husband Jason of Tyler; Bryan Minchew and his wife Kim of Tyler; Kenneth Ivy of Colorado; and Phillip Bradley of Austin; her great grandchildren Ashleigh and Zachary Scott; Logan and Camden Minchew; Lauren and Caleb Ivy and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of East Texas and especially her nurse Brittany and chaplain Robert Carter for their love and care in her final year. Memorials may be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd, Tyler, Texas or a charity of your choice.
